Beyond MetaTrader 5. In a browser tab.
MetaTrader 5 is a deep, broker-neutral platform built around automated trading. Mizora Pro is a browser terminal built for traders who read the chart and press the button themselves. Here is how they compare, including where MT5 is still the better choice.
Two platforms, two different jobs.
MetaTrader 5 comes from MetaQuotes, which describes it as a platform for trading forex, stocks and futures, with a desktop terminal, a web terminal and apps for iPhone and Android. Its centre of gravity is automation: the MQL5 programming language, Expert Advisors and a Strategy Tester for developing and testing trading robots.
Mizora Pro starts from a different question: what does a discretionary day trader need on one screen, with nothing to install? The answer is a fast chart, an order flow workspace, a ticket that works from the keyboard, a live view of your loss limit, and a record of every trade. It runs in any modern browser on desktop or phone.
One difference matters before anything else. MT5 is software that brokers offer, and you connect it to a broker account. Mizora Pro is the terminal for Mizora accounts, which trade simulated capital. It does not connect to MetaTrader brokers or to any other broker. If you are looking for a new front end for an existing brokerage account, Mizora Pro is not that.

What moving from MT5 looks like.
If you have used MT5 for years, the layout will feel familiar in purpose and different in shape. MT5 is a set of windows you arrange yourself: Market Watch, the chart, the Navigator, the Toolbox with trades and history, the Data Window and Market Depth. Mizora Pro is a fixed set of panels designed to sit together on one screen.
- Market Watch becomes the watchlist. Search, market-hours state and live prices for the 13 tradable markets, with a click to load the chart.
- The chart stays the chart. Built on TradingView Lightweight Charts, with six timeframes, a four-chart grid (G) and preset workspaces for scalp, swing and macro.
- The New Order window becomes the ticket. In MT5, F9 opens the New Order window. In Mizora Pro the ticket is always on screen, and Shift+B and Shift+S buy and sell. With one-click off, the first press arms the order and the second confirms it. See every keyboard shortcut.
- The Toolbox becomes positions and the record. Open positions, pending orders, a track record with win rate, profit factor and expectancy, and journal notes you can attach to a trade.
- The Navigator becomes the command palette. Cmd or Ctrl+K, or /, opens a palette for jumping to markets and actions without the mouse.
- Market Depth becomes the order flow workspace. This is the biggest change, and it needs a clear caveat: Mizora Pro's DOM ladder, footprint and heatmap are modelled from live prices, not exchange depth. They are a reading tool, and you cannot click the book to trade.
Things you will need to change: there is no trailing stop and no stop-limit order, so traders who rely on those will manage exits by dragging the stop on the chart instead. Sizing is in USD notional rather than lots, with presets for a share of buying power or a percentage of the account at risk.
Built for the trader at the screen.
- A modern browser terminal on every device. The same terminal works on Windows, macOS, Linux, a Chromebook or a phone. MT5 also has a web terminal, but on metatrader5.com it lists 9 timeframes and 30 indicators against the desktop's 21 and 80 plus. In Mizora Pro, the browser is the full product.
- Order flow views in the same workspace. Footprint, liquidity heatmap, delta, imbalances, a DOM ladder, time and sales, and signals for stacked imbalances, absorption and large prints. They are in Beta and modelled from live prices, and the terminal says so. How order flow works here.
- Your loss limit on the chart. The risk manager draws the price where the account would breach its daily limit or maximum loss, and previews it as you hover Buy or Sell.
- Orders that do not depend on your computer. Limit and stop orders rest on the server, and a server-side worker watches stops, targets and account limits around the clock. For comparison, MetaQuotes documents that MT5's trailing stop runs in the platform rather than on the server, so it stops working when the platform is off.
- Server-priced fills. Every fill, exit and mark uses the server's live quote, never a price sent by the browser, and orders are refused if the quote is stale.
- Practice and review built in. Bar replay with practice trades, a track record, journal notes and verified trade cards drawn by the server from the trade record.
Where MetaTrader 5 is the right call.
We would rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one. MT5 is the better choice if any of these matter to you:
- Automated trading. MT5 runs Expert Advisors written in MQL5 and has a Strategy Tester for testing them. Mizora Pro has no Expert Advisors, no scripting and no public trading API.
- Broker choice. MT5 is offered by brokers rather than by one firm, so you can take the same platform from one broker to another. Mizora Pro only trades Mizora accounts.
- More timeframes and indicators. 21 timeframes and more than 80 indicators on desktop, plus custom indicators. Mizora Pro has six timeframes and a focused indicator set.
- More order types. MT5 lists six pending order types, including buy stop limit and sell stop limit, plus trailing stop. Mizora Pro has market, limit, stop and bracket.
- Hedging and exchange-style depth. MT5 supports hedging and netting accounting, and Market Depth from the broker, with one-click trading from the chart or the book. Mizora Pro has neither hedging nor tradable depth.
- Stocks and a wider market list. MT5 is built for forex, stocks and futures, depending on your broker. Mizora Pro has 13 tradable markets and US stocks are watch-only.
Which one should you use?
If your edge is an Expert Advisor, a broker you already trust or an order type Mizora Pro does not have, stay on MetaTrader 5. If you trade by hand, want order flow views, your risk and your record in one browser tab, and want to practise on a free $50K account before anything else, Mizora Pro is the better fit for day trading.
The easiest test is to run both. Open Mizora Pro in a tab next to MT5 and trade the same session on the free practice account. Mizora Pro is free to use on a $50K practice account. Paid 30-day Pro packages include Mizora Flip accounts; see the plans and the account rules. Still weighing options? See Mizora Pro vs MT4 or every comparison.
